This is a representative supporting project for Xingyuan Electric in the telecom industry (anonymized; figures below are representative industry ranges, not specific contract data). The client is a communication-equipment maker needing volume sheet-metal housings for 5G outdoor cabinets, with core demands of rain/dust protection, heat dissipation and batch consistency.
1. Client pain points
- Outdoor cabinets endured sun and rain; welds and door seams leaked or condensed, wetting the equipment;
- Heat concentrated in equipment; the original shell's airflow was insufficient, causing frequent summer over-temp alarms;
- At thousand-unit volume, door-to-frame gaps varied, hurting on-site assembly efficiency and uniformity.
2. Our solution
The shell used structural waterproofing: continuous welds + double door-seam seals + bottom waterproof cable glands. Cooling used top-bottom natural convection with optional airflow, with pre-reserved fan and heat-exchanger mounts. Volume production used fixtures to guarantee door/frame interchangeability, keeping fit gaps within control and avoiding "one cabinet, one fit".
3. Representative project parameters
| Item | Representative approach |
|---|---|
| Waterproofing | Continuous weld + double door seal + waterproof glands |
| Cooling | Natural convection + reserved fan/heat-exchanger mounts |
| Batch interchangeability | Fixture control, stable fit gaps |
| Batch size | Thousand-set delivery |
4. Outcome
After the sample passed water-spray and temperature-rise tests we moved to volume, delivering thousand-set batches with higher first-time assembly fit and far fewer water-leak complaints; the client added the shell to its standard selection library.
5. Reusable lesson
Outdoor telecom-cabinet reliability is 70% structural waterproofing and 30% batch consistency. Solid sealing and fixtured interchangeability beat patching leaks later. This is a typical deployment of our outdoor-cabinet sheet metal capability.
